Camera -domestic

Say a cook were to sit alone one evening after work and start confiding in his knife about work, a professional bowler were to secretly name his favorite bowling balls, or a guitarist were to celebrate the birthday of his favorite guitar every year with a candle and cake.. would this be considered strange?

No. However, I have never experienced such a personal closeness with an object before. For instance with my camera.

If I could have a completely different relationship to a camera than I did before, would I get completely different images from it too? If I made a baby with a digital camera set where the right eye should be, how would I react? How would the image and the object react? This was my starting point.
Then the baby was made, he could crawl around well, and he had a camera in its right eye. All I had to do was press the remote shutter release in order to take photographs.
When I had finished making him, I already found myself besotted with this camera-baby-machine. I even learnt how to knit, so I could knit a pair of socks for him. I had fallen deeper into my own trap than I had ever imagined.

All the photos here, of studio interiors, roadsides, past exhibitions, selfportraits with the use of mirrors, are all taken by my baby, camera-domestic.
